PSYCHOTHERAPY APPROACH
My primary approach is evidence based CBT Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. CBT focuses on recognizing and changing self-defeating thought patterns and behaviors. CBT is based on the theory that much of how we cope is determined by our thoughts. Together we will explore the relationship between thoughts, feeling and actions. I continue to witness the courage of those willing to face their fears and discover the power they always had. One can learn to manage fear-based thinking and live a life free from the ravages of chronic anxiety, stress and depression.

When working with children and families issues will be identified, then a plan of action will be developed collaboratively. The therapeutic approach is solution focused using CBT and other therapies as listed below:

ERP Exposure and Response Prevention for OCD

HRT Habit Reversal Therapy for Tics/Tourettes

ACT Acceptance and Commitment Therapy

Family and Relationship Therapy

Parent-Child Therapy

Mindfulness and Relaxation

Visualization and Imagery
